Factoids

New here? This is what we're all about

Why I'm not on Facebook (anymore).

How we cloth diaper
(coming soon)

We had a homebirth!

The Light of Christ

Early Childhood Reading Readiness
We are the very start of home education, which is code word for "trial and error." This post is what we used (successfully!) to teach our first child to read. While it worked, it is a "hodge-podge" of resources. For the next go-round, we'll use a much simplified approach.

A random musing about breastfeeding
(The happy ending to this story is that Paul ended up being able to nurse for 16 months!)

Grace Under Fire.
The story of a frantic phone call made to me while I was out getting my hair cut. Let's just say that I do most, if not exclusively all of the cooking in the house now. This post would have been long lost in blogger oblivion had not Erin asked for it by name. ;-)

Quick facts about our family
~We have as many coffee makers as we do children. Priorities, people.
~I am in constant recovery for Diet Coke addiction. I relapse frequently.
~Our oldest son is obsessed with dinosaurs. Obsessed. I am confident that he knows more about dinosaurs than most adults. Therefore, we have a lot of dinosaur clothing, toys, and books. With two more boys looking to follow suit, dinosaurs end up on this blog often.
~We're not total granola-heads. This isn't a blog about organic living or tofu. We do some things along those lines, but we like mac-and-cheese as much as the daycare next door.
~My husband is a prosecutor. This means he puts "bad guys in jail." I am in my first year totally unemployed and home full-time with our boys.
~Our faith as a Catholic family is the glue that holds us all together. Our life just doesn't work any other way.
