I find this discussion very interesting.

"A woman by her very nature is maternal -- for every woman, whether ... married or unmarried, is called upon to be a biological, psychological or spiritual mother -- she knows intuitively that to give, to nurture, to care for others, to suffer with and for them -- for maternity implies suffering -- is infinitely more valuable in God's sight than to conquer nations and fly to the moon."

THanks for posting this. This is an issue I am always interested in, because I encounter both extremes and find it hard to describe where my husband and I are on the spectrum. At least I know we are not the only ones feeling lost along the spectrum.
I know what you mean. I didn't post my opinion on the matter because I'm of the belief that God made Man intelligent, with Prudence to govern our free will. Having said that, families must choose what is best for them in their particular situations. What's best for one family may not prove a blessing for another. In all of my theological studying I remember virtue not being an extreme, but perfection moderation or middle ground. It seems to me that prayer and openness to God's will can achieve this.
P.S. I can't believe you're blogging with a newborn and toddler! Way to go!
